With genealogical roots in southern India & childhood and adolescence spent across varied locations globally, I believe Planet Earth is my home. After obtaining the International Baccalaureate Diploma at The American School in Caracas, Venezuela & graduating in Fashion Design & Technology back in India, I worked for designer label Geisha Designs Pvt. Ltd. In parallel, I pursued my passion in dance at SDIPA, during which I performed at ‘XIX Commonwealth Games’. Subsequently, I worked with designer-artist Nitin Bal Chauhan in design & choreography aspects for Disney Couture at Lakmé Fashion Week, after which I performed over 400 shows in the Bollywood Musical ‘Zangoora – The Gypsy Prince’ at the Kingdom Of Dreams.
At Natya Nectar Dance Company I delved in designing costumes & performing Acro-Yoga, Aerial Silks/Hoop/Cube/Harness & Acrobatic Ball at multitudinous platforms such as Times Now, Femina Miss India Delhi, Reebok, Mahindra Meta Awards, Hero MotoCorp (Colombia), Blackberry, Sunburn to name a few. I have had appearances in TVCs like Nestle Munch & Airtel MyApp. My Hoola Hooping endeavours include Teamwork’s‘Bollywood Extravaganza’ in Egypt/Russia/China, Dance India Dance Season 5 Top 60 Zee TV, Royal Challenge ICC T20 Play Bold Anthem TVC, McDonalds Maharaja Mac TVC, Big Celebrity Challenge Incredible India Zee Telugu, Buddy Daddy Family Bash, Decathlon Store Celebrations, Hoop Choreography for the Hero Group, & much more.
While navigating the design & dance fields, I have a personal enthusiasm for social issues affecting India for which I take part in cleanliness campaigns & use Hoola Hooping, Performing Art & Costume Design as a medium to create awareness. Works supporting this include Imagindia Clean-India Improv, Hooping for SHEOWS Senior Citizens Day, Paint Our World Empower Delhi, short film 'A Dream Caught: Clean-India Hooping' for Swachh Bharat Short Film Festival & NFDC, ‘Kachra Rani’ At Contemporary Arts Week 2016, ‘Gang of Girls’ in ode to Nirbhaya & women empowerment.
I look forward to taking hoop workshops across India in the coming years. I am honoured to have been chosen Absolut Creative Indian of the Week by The Creative Indians with Manil Rohit on NDTV Good Times & being nominated Hooper of the Year (Asia) 2017 on the international platform Hooping.org!
