Why do you want to be an IFAD Ambassador?
Participating in IFAD 2017 in Marseille was such an exhilarating experience. Sharing my love of hoop dance and flow arts with the community in France, networking with international hoopers, honing my craft, and meeting such talented and driven artists was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. I would love to represent my city and my country in this next phase of IFAD and share my love for hula hooping with many to come!
If you were to become an IFAD Ambassador, what kind of event do you imagine hosting?
As a professional musician, musical selection is key in creating a performance that communicates the emotion, feeling, and energy of artistic expression, I would love to host a "connecting with the music" type of event where we focus on the rhythmic, tonal, and harmonic implications and how we can work to translate and communicate them though our hoop dance to tell a story.
Tell us a bit about yourself, and share your flow story with us!
The second I first picked up a hula hoop in 2014, I knew that my life would change for the better. I was going through a very dark time in my life, on the brink of suicide, and my circle showed me the light though the darkness. Hula has become an integral part of my mental, emotional, and spiritual health; it allows me to escape from the often times harsh reality of life and the strains that come with current existence. Since then, I've never looked back.
