HoopsieDee (or just, Dee) is a St. Louis based instructor and performer of hula hoop dance. She has been deeply involved in hoop dancing and hula hooping for almost three years and continues her love for the art. She is also a burlesque performer in StL area shows from time to time. Dee is a strong believer in strengthening the communities you exist in, she has performed at multiple events in different communities, such as The Augusta GA Pride Parade 2015 in Augusta, GA, the Delmar Loop Ice Carnival 2016 in St. Louis, MO, and North by Old North festival 2016 in St. Louis, MO.
After a short hiatus and taking a journey into motherhood, Dee is back on the hoop scene as an ambassador and hosting the first International Flow Arts Day for St. Louis. HoopsieDee started her journey in flow arts in October of 2014 with hula hooping. She bought her first hoop after coming to the decision to find a new form therapy to cope with her PTSD. Seeing other hoopers in their own happy world, she was convinced this was something good.
Self-taught, she grew to love the art form and started performing in 2015 under the name DiDi BangBang at a local St. Louis burlesque club. She then took her act to other local burlesque shows in the area. In early 2016 she performed at the St. Louis Loop Ice Carnival as Jack Frost. She began teaching hoop fitness classes for beginners in Orlando, FL shortly after. Summer of 2016 was spent performing on the streets and beaches of St. Petersburg, FL, while also learning to incorporate roller skating in hoop routines.
Her last performance before her break due to pregnancy, was at North by Old North festival in St. Louis, MO. She is now back as an ambassador for the International Flow Arts Day in St. Louis!
Catch her out on the scene in the city this summer!!
